The current job market has become very competitive and securing a job is not as easy as it was before, even for skilled professionals. With digital recruitment taking over, it is next to impossible to secure a job just through your resume. With a gazillion other profiles vying for one position, it is essential for your CV to tackle the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) that are employed by recruiters.

But as daunting as it sounds, you can still do it. There are so many tools and strategies available for job hunting available now. I used these tools smartly and landed my dream job. All you need to do is adapt to these, and you will ace job hunting like a pro.

Let us get into the job-hunting tools I found the most useful. If used smartly, these are guaranteed to help you secure a job in this competitive market.

    LinkedIn

This one is the most obvious. However, I doubt that you are using LinkedIn to its full potential because I sure was not. It is more than just a connection-building platform.

Your LinkedIn profile is reflective of your professional capabilities. Most recruiters visit candidates LinkedIn profiles to check their background and most companies post their job openings on LinkedIn. Therefore, LinkedIn is the best place to showcase your talent and get hired.

It is more than just mentioning your skills on your profile. You need to regularly post how you use them to combat challenges at work. Also, do not forget to showcase your portfolio. It is also good to highlight your achievements in the ‘Featured’ section. These aspects make it likely to get hired.

Plus, switch on the customized job alerts. This way job openings come to your notification window. Lastly, always mention your LinkedIn profile’s URL in your resume, so it will help recruiters to find your LinkedIn profile.

    Google Alerts

Google Alerts allows you to set up customized job alerts. As soon as a job posting is posted on Google Careers, an alert is sent via email. It is a pretty underrated tool despite being a powerful one.

To set up Google Alerts, all you need to do is search Google Careers for the positions you are interested in. You will see a ‘Turn on job alerts’ toggle before the search results. Just switch it on, and you will start receiving alerts.

This is a great tool for not missing out on an opportunity and it can save a lot of time and hassle. In some cases, Google sends job openings in your phone’s notification windows as well. To ensure you do not miss out on any of these, it is important to have a dependable internet connection. I benefitted a lot from Xfinity’s smooth service. You can call the Xfinity phone number to learn more about their packages.

    Resume Worded

Resumes are an integral part of job searching. Very few recruiters manually sift through your resumes. Most use ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) which means your resumes should be optimized with keywords that the ATS is most likely to detect.

Resume Worded allows you to tailor your resume using AI-powered insights. It tailors your resume according to the job you are applying for. This increases the chances of your resume making it through the initial screening through ATS.

This tool also provides feedback on your resume and points out the keywords and skills your resume is missing. You can also use it to optimize your LinkedIn profile for boosted visibility. Resume Worded is a great tool to enhance your resume so that it gets you an increased number of interviews.

    Teal

Teal is an all-in-one tool that streamlines your job search, builds better resumes, and even tracks your job for you. You can also use it to generate cover letters and auto-fill time-taking job applications. You can even use it to get feedback on your LinkedIn profile.

Teal has a feature called AI Resume Builder that you can use to conveniently tailor your resume according to job postings. It has a Chrome extension available, which means it acts as your job application assistant, helping you every step of the way.

Lastly, Teal makes your simple resume into an impactful one, using all the right words and formats. Which increases the chances of landing interviews.

    Careerflow

I saved the best one for last. Careerflow is a dynamic job-hunting tool that has a variety of options to help you in your job search.

It is also an AI-based tool that allows you to turn your job search into job search management. Apart from using it for building or improving resumes and optimizing LinkedIn profiles, Careerflow organizes your job search through a personalized CRM.

You can keep track of the job you have applied to and add important notes and contacts in one place. It also has a Chrome extension which turns it into a career copilot, providing insights and auto-filling applications for you as you go. You can turn your job search interactive with the help of Kanban boards that allow you to sort job opportunities into various categories like Wish-list, Applied, Rejections, Interviews, etc.

That is it for the job hunt tool that helped me and can help you too. It is all about using these tools to your advantage. However, just using these tools does not guarantee job offers. You also need to focus on building the right skillset that is required in your field. The right skill set and experience is what makes all the difference whereas a job hunt tool makes the job search appear less overwhelming.

    Happy searching!
